On this edition of Hard Knock, we’ll speak with Louisiana based community organizer Sukura Kone, about Hurricane Katrina ten years later and the visible differences between the old and new populations residing in New Orleans.


We hear accounts from mothers that lost the children to state sanction violence. This audio was recorded at the Black Lives Convening in Cleveland Ohio, 2015. The mother of Oscar Grant Jr., Kendrick Johnson, Tamir Rice and Eric Garner spoke. Also Erica Gordon-Taylor, the cousin of Emmett Till spoke began the discussion.
